When choosing your paint colours it's a good idea to consider the five main influential factors ....

1.0 Base Colours

According to lightness of the colours, the colours are divided into three categories:
•  1.0 Base colours
•  2.0 Colour prices
•  3.0 Weather resistance
•  4.0 Number of coats
•  5.0 Absorbency
A base – pastel shades
B base – mid tone colours
C base – deep colours

2.0 Colour Prices

Different colours have different prices. Their relation is as follows:
2.1 Deeper colours have relatively higher price than lighter colours with the same colour shade. So, normally C base series colours have highest price, B base takes second place, A base colours are the lowest price.
2.2 The price of colours with different shades differ from each other. Earthy tones, neutral tones and gray tone tinted by inorganic pigments have dull shades and most cost effective price. Whereas bright colours coloured by organic pigments are more expensive, bright red and yellow in particular are the most expensive.
2.3 According to practical cost of each colour, the colours are divided into three categories: A base = lowest price B base = medium price C base = highest price.

3.0 Weather Resistance

Most colours in this colour chart possess good weather resistance and are suitable for exterior use. Weather resistance varies with colour slightly as described below:
3.1 Earthy tones mainly produced by inorganic pigments have better light fastness, vivid colours tinted by organic colourants have slightly poorer weather resistance relatively.
3.2 With the same shade, lighter colours have poorer light fastness than deeper colours.
3.3 Minor colours are too light to use for exterior, the mark A* denotes that the colour cant be used in exterior wall.

4.0 Number of Coats

With application of a one coat primer, and two coats topcoat painting system, most colours in this colour chart obtain complete hiding. Only a small number of colours such as vivid yellow and red in C base colours have less hiding power relatively. To get excellent hiding, more coats or by applying a tinted primer is necessary.

5.0 Absorbency

Slight deviations in the tone compared to the original shades are affected by the printing technique and the material. A shade of colour can be affected by the absorbency or structure of the substrate, environmental influences, and lighting conditions as well as sheen levels of the paint. No claims can be asserted for deviation in tone caused by the above mentioned factors.
