Living Shield Low Sheen Application Guide
 Paint Tech Living Shield Low Sheen is a premium low sheen water based interior paint combining washable with moisture and mould resistance. This product is highly recommended for walls in high traffic areas such hallways and family rooms.
Use on
Walls of living, family, rumpus and bedrooms where a washable, low sheen finish is required.
Application
Short nap roller, brush or spray. Apply 2 coats of Paint Tech Living Shield Low Sheen ensuring that the first coat is completely dry before applying the second. Remember using poor quality or worn rollers can affect the final achieved. Spread paint evenly and do not overspread. Where necessary, apply a second coat.
Coverage
Approximately 16 square meters per litre , depending on the nature of the surface. Spreading rate on rough or absorbent surfaces will be lower drying and recoating Normally dries to touch in 30 minutes and may be recoated after 2 hours at 25°C and 50% RH. Under cooler or humid conditions, allow longer times. Do not use in temperatures below 10°C.
Surface preparation
Scrape off loose and flaking paint. Wash with sugar soap. Fill nail holes. cracks etc, with a suitable filler. Sand smooth and dust down. Paint these areas with Paint Tech Easy Sand Sealer undercoat. Sand gloss and semi-gloss surfaces thoroughly , wipe clean.
Brush down to remove dust. Apply 1 coat of Paint Tech Easy Sand Sealer Undercoat. New plaster. fibrous plaster, plasterglass Brush down with a stiff fibre brush. Fill cracks with a suitable filler. sand and dust down. For new plaster, fibrous plaster and plasterglass , paint filled areas with Paint Tech Easy Sand Sealer underfoot.
Thinning
Not usually required. On very absorbent surfaces e.g. set plaster, or on very hot days, dampen the surface and thin the first coat with up to 100ml of water per litre.
Clean up
Water, clean equipment immediately after use.
Care of new paintwork
Avoid exposure to steam and condensation for 48 hours after painting. May be lightly cleaned with a sponge wet with detergent solution after 7 days. |
